Resumo: The present essay aims to discuss the role of decolonial studies, in particular the conceptual contributions of sociologists Aníbal Quijano and Edgardo Lander, concerning the coloniality of power and that of that, respectively; highlighting the importance of this issue for vocational training in Social Service, by broadening the historical-original understanding of social reality. To this end, the study will have a qualitative approach with narrative-conceptual discussion of the relevant literature that debates about coloniality and its repercussions and how the Social Service can incorporate this theme as a lens of interpretation of the relations of power and domination in capitalist society. It is concluded that in order to fulfil the ethical-political project of the Social Service that preserves the right and social justice, qualify its technical-operational dimension in the scenario of social inequalities; it is necessary to improve its theoretical structure inserted decolonial studies in its theoretical-methodological parameter.

Para tanto, o estudo terá abordagem qualitativa com discussão narrativa-conceitual da literatura pertinente que debate sobre colonialidade e sua repercussão e de que forma o Serviço Social pode está incorporando essa temática como lente de interpretação das relações de poder e dominação na sociedade capitalista.
