Resumo: | A case study of a family farming organization (FA) was conducted, reflecting on the institutional market of the National School Feeding Program (PNAE) as a public policy (PP) that encompasses FA. The objective was to analyze the social representations (RS) of PA about the Program. Qualitative research, with literature review, documentary research, free observation and semi-structured interviews; theoretical basis centered on the universe of SR theory. At the beginning of its implementation PNAE was represented as a risky market, but, once familiar, revealed hegemony in price representation as "very good". We identified participation in both the Association and the Program of a majority of farmers who are not those with difficulties marketing their products. Representations, formed from communication processes, are strong directives in our actions; Thus, in implementing PPs, investing in the quantity and quality of dialogue spaces is something to be considered. |

Representations, formed from communication processes, are strong directives in our actions; Thus, in implementing PPs, investing in the quantity and quality of dialogue spaces is something to be considered.
