Resumo: | Contact with professional practice during undergraduate education is a key stage of the academic training of social workers. During the work training experience theory is combined with practice and the student becomes acquainted with the socio-occupational spaces, the actions’ target publics, the possible means of action and challenges presented by the social policies, and the institutional powers. For students this is a moment of profound knowledge gain concerning the profession – the exercises performed during work training are directly related to expected professional standards, and in that respect can prove to be either adequate or not. This paper reflects on this particular stage of the social work training, describing the themes associated with the guidelines (Popular Health Education and Social Control and Institutionalized Practices) of the supervised work training program of the Department of Social Work of the Federal University of Mato Grosso. |

This paper reflects on this particular stage of the social work training, describing the themes associated with the guidelines (Popular Health Education and Social Control and Institutionalized Practices) of the supervised work training program of the Department of Social Work of the Federal University of Mato Grosso.O contato com o exercício profissional na graduação é um dos momentos fundamentais da formação acadêmica dos/as Assistentes Sociais e ocorre por ocasião do estágio, ainda que este não seja o momento exclusivo do ensino da prática. Nesse momento articula-se teoria e prática, conhecem-se os espaços sócio-ocupacionais, o público alvo das ações profissionais, as políticas sociais com suas possibilidades e, principalmente, seus desafios e os poderes institucionais. Para os/as estudantes o estágio se configura num momento de profundas e importantes reflexões sobre a profissão. As atividades desenvolvidas no estágio estão diretamente ligadas às expectativas profissionais, sendo satisfatórias ou não para os futuros profissionais em Serviço Social. Assim, por meio desse trabalho pretendemos realizar algumas reflexões sobre esse momento especial da formação, apresentando a experiência de estágio em Comunidades localizadas na cidade de Cuiabá/MT e no Hospital Universitário Júlio Muller – HUJM, vinculado à Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso – UFMT. Tomamos como parâmetro para tais reflexões a questão da Educação Popular em Saúde, Controle Social e Práticas Institucionalizadas.
