Resumo: The study analyzes the construction of the northeastern social imaginary by developing an investigation regarding the contribution of regionalism and stereotypes around the Northeast. In this sense, the article seeks to understand how the elements - regional formation; racialization; prejudices etc - that constitute this imaginary produced interpretations about the daily life experienced by the Northeasterners, therefore, the analysis aims to build a discussion in which these issues are sociologically understood in a critical way, paying attention to the factors of construction of Brazilian society.
