Construction of the imaginary of a city using digital technologies

Resumo: | For an individual, a city or region becomes a manifestation where material and immaterial elements converge, sustained by the culture and identity forged through generations in a given space, which acquires form and meaning in the minds of the inhabitants giving form the imaginary; then reflected in symbols and other concepts expressed in the city, thus defining its essence. However, cities day by day receive the onslaught of external symbols. In the search to preserve and exalt the culture and identity of the social group in front of others, digital media emerge as a promoter channel, where communication mediated by different technologies, mainly systems such as Facebook and YouTube, has become a promoter of culture and identity, thus consolidating the imaginary and driving meanings as it is an own and representative brand. This text addresses this situation, exploring the case of a city in northwestern Mexico, a country characterized by historical, cultural and patrimonial wealth recognized in other parts of the world, and as the trend of cultural videos edited and shared by users to through social platforms, they have become participants of the above. The text finally invites us to reflect on how, from the effect that digital tools bring to the communication process, it is possible to determine if the generation of the imaginary benefits, as well as customs and traditions that are being forgotten. |

Sin embargo, las ciudades día a día reciben el embate de símbolos exteriores. En la búsqueda de preservar y exaltar la cultura e identidad del propio grupo social frente a los demás, los medios digitales emergen como conducto promotor, donde la comunicación mediada por diversas tecnologías, principalmente sistemas como Facebook y Youtube, se ha convertido en un promotor de la cultura e identidad, consolidando así el imaginario e impulsando significados como lo es una marca propia y representativa. Este texto aborda esta situación, explorando el caso de una ciudad en el noroeste de México, país caracterizado por una riqueza histórica, cultural y patrimonial reconocida en otras partes del mundo, y como la tendencia de los videos documentales editados y compartidos por los usuarios a través de las plataformas sociales, se han convertido en participes de lo anterior. El texto finalmente invita a reflexionar sobre cómo, a partir del efecto que aportan las herramientas digitales al proceso comunicativo, es posible determinar si se beneficia la generación de un imaginario referente, también costumbres y tradiciones que están quedando en el olvido.Para um indivíduo, uma cidade ou região se torna uma manifestação para onde convergem elementos materiais e imateriais, sustentados pela cultura e identidade forjadas através das gerações em um determinado espaço, que adquire forma e significado nas mentes dos habitantes formar o imaginário; refletido em símbolos e outros conceitos expressos na cidade, definindo sua essência. No entanto, as cidades dia a dia recebem o ataque de símbolos externos. Na busca por preservar e exaltar a cultura e a identidade do grupo social frente aos outros, a mídia digital surge como um canal promotor, onde a comunicação mediada por diferentes tecnologias, principalmente sistemas como Facebook e YouTube, se tornou um promotor de cultura e identidade, consolidando assim os significados imaginários e direcionadores, por ser uma marca própria e representativa. Este texto aborda esta situação, explorando o caso de uma cidade no noroeste do México, um país caracterizado pela riqueza histórica, cultural e patrimonial reconhecida em outras partes do mundo, e como a tendência dos vídeos culturais editados e compartilhados pelos usuários para através de plataformas sociais, eles se tornaram participantes do acima.
