Chemical industry in the presence of influence Neighborhood culture and students of choices in relation to profession

Resumo: This article presents partial data from a doctoral research that sought initially identify the social representations of undergraduate students and teachers High School Chemistry of São Miguel Paulista region / SP on the influence of Science School on society. During the research were cited several times by subject (undergraduate) that the presence of a chemical in the well region influenced their career choices. We pass, then, to investigate factors. They show the influence of said chemical in growth and development Of region. For data collection used questionnaires with open questions and issues closed and also literature in newspapers and theses and visiting industry. The results show that the presence of industry in the region brought in addition to growth population, social development, such as expanding trade, recreational areas and utilities industry as hospitals, schools, kindergartens and more transport lines. We concluded that the schools of the region can not ignore the presence of the Industry and Science school, that worked in the classroom, should take into consideration of that industry presence in the region and their impact and influences the social development of citizens.

Este artigo apresenta dados parciais de uma tese de doutorado, cujo objetivo inicial foi identificar as representações sociais de estudantes de graduação em Química e de professores de Química da região de São Miguel Paulista/SP, acerca da Influência da Ciência Escolar sobre a Sociedade. No decorrer do trabalho de campo ouvimos dos entrevistados, que a presença de uma indústria química na região também influenciou suas escolhas profissionais. Passamos, então, a investigar fatores que pudessem evidenciar as influências da referida indústria no crescimento e desenvolvimento da região e de seus habitantes. Além de um levantamento bibliográfico em jornais e teses, utilizamos questionários com questões abertas e fechadas, respondidos por estudantes de Química.  Os resultados apontam que, a presença dessa indústria na região trouxe, além de crescimento populacional, desenvolvimento social, ampliação do comércio, criação de áreas de lazer e de serviços públicos como hospitais, escolas, creches e linhas de transportes.
