The formation of mathematical concepts and robotics: a teaching possibility

Resumo: In this article, we present the process of solving two tasks by three students from the ninth year of elementary school, aimed at studying the rest of the Euclidean division and congruence between two numbers (mod n) using the Arduino Uno e robotics kit. programming with Scratch for Arduino software, carried out within the scope of a master's research already completed. The focus of this article is the conceptual development of these students, analyzed in light of Cultural-Historical Theory. With the discussion about them, we conclude that the use of robotics and programming combined with the mathematical content activity allowed the study and formation these concepts, as well as the quotient and other components of the algorithm of the Euclidean division. Working with robotics and programming possibility that the student has and make mental connections between the knowledge already acquired and that which is being produced in the use of these materials.

El enfoque de este artículo es el desarrollo conceptual de estos estudiantes, analizado a la luz de la teoría histórico-cultural. Con la discusión sobre ellos, concluimos que el uso de la robótica y la programación combinada con la actividad de contenido matemático permitió el estudio y formación de estos conceptos, así como el cociente y otros componentes de lo algoritmo de la división euclidiana. Trabajar con robótica y programación permite al estudiante hacer conexiones mentales entre los conocimientos ya adquiridos y los que se están produciendo con el uso de estos materiales.Neste artigo, apresentamos o processo de resolução de duas tarefas executadas por três estudantes do nono ano do Ensino Fundamental, voltadas para o estudo do resto da divisão euclidiana e congruência entre dois números (mod n), por meio do uso de kit de robótica Arduino Uno e da programação com o software Scratch for Arduino, realizadas no âmbito de uma pesquisa de mestrado já concluída. O foco deste artigo é o desenvolvimento conceitual desses estudantes, analisado à luz da teoria Histórico-Cultural. Com a discussão tecida acerca deles, concluímos que o uso da robótica e da programação aliada à atividade de conteúdo matemático possibilitou o estudo e formação desses conceitos, bem como do quociente e demais componentes do algoritmo da divisão euclidiana.
