Resumo: | Chemistry teaching for visually impaired people implies the use of adapted and/or specialized didactic/pedagogical and technological materials and specific teaching methods to eliminate pedagogical barriers imposed by the decrease of visual acuity to which they are exposed to. In this paper, we present a panoramic analysis of the descriptive inventories related to construction and usage of didactic materials for chemistry teaching to students with visual impairment between 2009 and 2018. For this, the following descriptive word combinations were used: chemistry teaching, school inclusion, visual impairment and teaching materials. Consultations were also held on theses, dissertations, scientific journals and minutes of the proceedings of Encontro Nacional de Ensino de Química (National Meeting of Chemistry Teaching), Encontro Nacional de Pesquisa em Educação em Ciência (National Research Meeting in Science Education), Congresso Brasileiro de Química (Brazilian Chemistry Congress). The results pointed to the predominance of a instrumentalist view about the use of materials as appropriate, useful and favoring sensorial tactile learning. We emphasize the need for more refined reflections so that the functionality of these materials do not be reduced to mere instrumentalism. We highlight a tendency in some productions about investigations in the construction of mental images, bringing important contributions to the understanding of conceptual elaboration from the tactile perception of the materials used. |
