The school space and children's curiosity about the body: paths and challenges for teaching practice in a CTS education

Resumo: The objective of this article is to describe the conception of child sexuality presented in the teachers' narratives, proposing to approach interdisciplinary knowledge from a CTS Education. A bibliographic survey was carried out, as well as open interviews with teachers of Early Childhood Education and the initial series of public educational institutions located in the ABC Paulista region. The analysis of the results showed the relevance of teacher training focused on knowledge related to child sexuality, in a perspective that there is an intersection between sexuality education and CTS Education. The bibliographic data highlighted the importance of recognizing that the child's curiosity must be seen as necessary for child development and knowledge of the world. In this aspect, the teaching role gains relevance by establishing bridges between the child's daily experiences with aspects related to the influence of Science and Technology.

Se realizó un levantamiento bibliográfico, así como entrevistas abiertas con docentes de Educación Infantil y la serie inicial de instituciones educativas públicas ubicadas en la región del ABC Paulista. El análisis de los resultados mostró la pertinencia de la formación docente centrada en los conocimientos relacionados con la sexualidad infantil, en la perspectiva de que existe una intersección entre la educación en sexualidad y la Educación CTS. Los datos bibliográficos destacaron la importancia de reconocer que la curiosidad del niño debe ser vista como necesaria para el desarrollo infantil y el conocimiento del mundo. En este aspecto, el rol docente cobra relevancia al establecer puentes entre las experiencias cotidianas del niño con aspectos relacionados con la influencia de la Ciencia y la Tecnología.O objetivo deste artigo é descrever a concepção de sexualidade infantil apresentada nas narrativas dos professores, propondo abordar os conhecimentos interdisciplinares a partir de uma Educação CTS. Foi realizado um levantamento bibliográfico, bem como entrevistas abertas com professores de Educação Infantil e das séries iniciais de instituições de ensino públicas localizadas na região do ABC Paulista. A análise dos resultados evidenciou a relevância da formação docente voltada a conhecimentos referentes à sexualidade infantil, em uma perspectiva que haja uma intersecção entre a educação em sexualidade e a Educação CTS. Os dados bibliográficos ressaltaram a importância de reconhecer que a curiosidade da criança deve ser vista como necessária ao desenvolvimento infantil e ao conhecimento de mundo.
