Academic production survey in brazilian theses and dissertations on teaching and learning of decimal numbers in the period 1995 to 2015

Decimal numbers form part of the process of mathematical evolution, which is consistent with the evolution of civilization. In this context, the guiding question of the research carried out arises: What are the characteristics of the master's and doctoral research studies about teaching or learning decimal numbers? In this paper, we present the results of a research that aimed to investigate the characteristics of the master's and doctoral researches studied on teaching or learning decimal numbers, taking into account the authors, counselors, institutions and graduate programs. Still sorting them according to your specifications. To do so, a survey was carried out in the Bank of Theses and Dissertations of the Coordination of Improvement of Higher Level Personnel (CAPES) in which the keyword "decimals" and "decimal" were used to find the works that were the focus of this study. In that were found 26 publications and classified in 5 groups, namely: Studies that investigated the conceptual difficulty and the operations with decimals; Studies that presented teaching proposals; Studies that investigate difficulties in solving problems with the decimals; Studies that investigated teachers' knowledge and practices on decimal numbers; and Studies that investigated about decimal numbers in pure mathematics.
