Resumo: This work has the objective to analyze the answers of the undergraduate students on: i) what they understand about the greenhouse effect and, ii) their ideas about the possible solutions for the problem. The diagnosis was accomplished as starting point for the development of a inter-discipline research whose theme is regional warming, pertinent to the discipline "Resolutions of Problems" of the undergraduate course of Chemistry of the Methodist University of Piracicaba, which curricula presented as main subject related to the Science, Technology, Society and Environment.
