Vision of teachers on the game of chess Iteaching and problem-solving in Mathematics

Resumo: Chess has been placed in the context of the school more intensively in recent decades. Although statements of chess players and / or physical education teachers and math, point encouraging results regarding posture and performance of students in the habit of playing, we find little discussion of research on math problems in the context of this game. Thus, we conducted research on the subject as part of our job Postdoctoral, part of which corresponds to a survey of four elementary school teachers on the pedagogical potential of chess for teaching problem solving in this context, the latter will present here. In this, we conclude that chess allows to discuss problems, both for learning some math content, and to mobilize mental abilities, which can make it an ally in the teacher's work.

Embora depoimentos de enxadristas e/ou professores de educação física e matemática, apontem resultados animadores, quanto à postura e o desempenho dos alunos com o hábito de jogar, encontramos poucas pesquisas sobre discussão de problemas de matemática no contexto deste jogo.
