Resumo: | Environmental Education emerged from the environmental movement concerned about the environmental impacts caused by human actions on the planet and was adopted by international organizations, especially the UN. Environmental Education (EE) for sustainable development has gained international relevance since Eco-92 and the advent of Agenda 21 and later Agenda 2030, in which the signatory countries of the agreement have committed themselves to adopting the 17 Sustainable Development Objectives. In order to design EE for sustainable development it is essential to develop school curricula that establish learning that allow students to understand their role and that of governments towards sustainable development. In this sense, the present work aims to perform a critical analysis of the City Curriculum for the Natural Sciences area regarding EE for sustainable development. The national and international official documents that served as basis for the elaboration of the City Curriculum regarding EE conceptions and Sustainable development were critically analyzed. The learning contents available in this curriculum showed the strong intention of the city of São Paulo for the critical development and citizen of the students when adopting as education for sustainable development. |
