Chemical inscriptions in brasilian textbooks: a semiotics analysis of the representations on phases of the matter

Resumo: This study draws on recent research on the central role of use the images in different formats. The study explored the images used in textbooks, to improve their generalized misuse in teaching, and to clarify the cognitive requirements for their comprehension. In this study we will show some examples of such incidence, justifying the need of the critical integration of images in science education.
