Resumo: This paper analyzes the potentials of workshops with middle-school 5th graders dealing with the studies of form and drawing of the body in Kandinsky in order to relate Art and Mathematical Education and discuss issues concerning proportion. The guiding question is “how Kandinsky´s work may contribute to foster debates in the field of Art and Mathematical Education?” The initial focus was on theoretical issues that had been developed by the artist as well as in the historical-epistemological moment he belonged to. Then I looked more deeply into Kandinsky´s artistic and mathematical thinking regarding the concepts of point, line and plan, which are found in his Theory of Shape da Formand in his productions associated with the human body. Next, I discussed the theoretical/methodological approach utilized by cartography, highlighting theirs uses in composition and the analysis of the workshops with the students. The group selected for research consisted of 25 middle-school 5th-graders from Colégio de Aplicação(a school where pedagogical research is conducted) at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, being conducted for two months. Finally, I have considered that the interweaving of Art  and Education may turn out to be powerful to raise discussions in the field of Mathematical Education and, more specifically in this study, about the concept of proportion.
