Interdisciplinary tissues: the endless construction of interdisciplinarity threads in the initial training of teachers of Nature and Mathematics Sciences

Interdisciplinarity has been encouraged at different levels of education, to achieve a broad view of knowledge arising from the integration of different knowledge. This paper presents the Inter-undergraduate Project, which was developed in an interdisciplinary perspective, with future professors in the area of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (CNM), from a Federal University, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The focus of this study is to present the didactic activity of Interdisciplinary Webs elaborated by the graduates participating in the project, and to discuss the interdisciplinary relations traced in this initial awareness-raising activity. The methodology used was the Educational Design Research, which identifies real problems and seeks to solve them, the problem being identified by the lack of interdisciplinary experiences in undergraduate courses in the CNM area. The interdisciplinary webs developed were analyzed and categorized by the content analysis technique (BARDIN, 1977). The categories that emerged regarding the interdisciplinary relationships that were drawn were: Unrelated and Partial Relationship. Of the nine groups of participants, only four built webs with partial relationships, with evidence of interdisciplinarity, pointing out how challenging it is to carry out approaches in this perspective. This investigation points out the need to invest from the initial training in teaching practices and knowledge, founded on the perspective of interdisciplinarity.
