Resumo: In view of the inadequate health conditions of Brazilians in terms of effective healthy eating, fostering the necessary debate on this topic in different social sectors, the present research aimed at analyzing on how the National Curriculum Parameters (PCN) and the Common National Curricular Base (BNCC) punctuate Food and Nutrition Education (EAN) for basic education, specifically in the area of science education. In order to carry out this qualitative research, inquiries were made in the discourse of these documents, which present contributions to the construction of Brazilian state and municipal curricular matrices, with the intention of verifying their delimitations on the promotion of healthy eating in the Science discipline, area that has been delegated to EAN. Based on the findings, it was observed that healthy eating was promoted in PCN with a major biomedical bias, having, in a minority, the approach of EAN in social, cultural, affective perspectives, among others over the several years of elementary school. In the opposite direction, BNCC adopted healthy eating as a limitation to biomedical bias and only to the 5th of elementary school. Thus, there is a setback in the promotion of healthy eating in science education.

Thus, there is a setback in the promotion of healthy eating in science education.
