Perceptions of Science and Technology by Graduate students in the Human area

Resumo: This work is the result of an undergraduate research project of scientific initiation, with objective to investigate the perceptions of Science and Technology by the students of the earlier period of Education postgraduate courses (sensu-stricto and sensu-lato). One reason of the importance of knowing their perception is that most graduate students in education are professors of public and private schools and usually opinion makers, although there is no direct relationship between teaching practice and beliefs about the nature of science. Interviews and questionnaires were applied and, the students generally have a simplistic ideas, believing in the neutrality of science and technology, understanding them as instruments of progress and welfare of the society.

Uma das razões da importância em se conhecer as suas percepções é que a maioria dos alunos da pós-graduação em educação atua como professor da rede pública e particular de ensino e, apesar de não haver uma relação direta entre a prática docente e as crenças sobre a natureza da Ciência os professores, em geral, são formadores de opinião. Foram realizadas entrevistas e aplicados questionários.
