Resumo: | This work presents the results of an activity carried out with students from the Elementary School belonging to a private school in the South of Minas Gerais, in Science classes, with the objective of developing sustainable actions aimed at the Environment and based on Education CTS. The research is characterized as qualitative, involving 50 full-time school students and students in the 3rd year of Elementary School. The students built a hanging vegetable garden using PET bottles to grow vegetables that would be consumed by the students themselves and also by school staff. The project awakened in students a greater critical, argumentative sense and decision-making involving food, health, reuse and recycling of waste, allowing for more active participation and greater interest in Science classes. Setting up the garden made early years students protagonists of the learning process, allowing them to question, interact and expand their knowledge with a view to training focused on citizenship, in addition to encouraging the involvement of families in the proposed activities. |

CTS.
