Contributions of the study of the environment for the formation of rural educators for Science teaching in the semiarid in state of Piauí, Brazil

Resumo: This paper aims to discuss the contributions of the study of the environment to the initial training of rural educators for science teaching in semiarid region of Piauí State, Brazil, in the first semester of 2018. Data were collected in the form of questionnaires and recordings in video of reports presented in seminars of 19 undergraduates of a Course of Licentiate of Rural Education. Data analysis showed that the study of environment is metodology consistent with the foundations of Rural Education. The results, analyzed in the critical-social perspective of the contents, indicated that the study of environment can contribute to the contextualized of Science teaching; the strengthening of peasant identity; teaching with research; the collective work and the critical reflection of reality.

Os dados foram coletados na forma de questionários e gravações em vídeo de relatórios apresentados em seminários de 19 licenciandos de um Curso de Licenciatura em Educação do Campo. A análise dos dados mostrou que o estudo do meio se coaduna com os fundamentos da Educação do Campo.
