Resumo: | The object of study is the Despertar Journal, a device of school material culture, produced by the Board of Public Instruction of Caxias do Sul/RS, during the period from 1947 to 1954. The research analyzed the copies of the newspaper to identify evidence that could cooperate for the understanding of how the printed matter, associated with the promotion of events in rural locations, were used to promote content and representations, which intended to disseminate knowledge and the dissemination of a civic culture, aiming to forge behaviors, practices and habits exercised in daily life in rural areas. The theoretical contribution is based on Cultural History and, as a methodology, historical document analysis was used. The research results indicate that the municipal teaching body followed a pedagogical orientation influenced by the policies developed in the period, similar to what was produced in schools in other regions of the country. It also made it possible to identify that the events developed in the context of the Caxiense rural school, ratified the discourse found in Despertar and, in the same way, were legitimized by the texts published in the print, which may have influenced the adoption of certain practices by the communities in the interior of the municipality. from Caxias do Sul. |

La investigación analizó los ejemplares del periódico para identificar evidencias que pudieran cooperar para la comprensión sobre el modo como el impreso, asociado a la promoción de eventos en las localidades rurales, fue usado para la promoción de contenidos y de representaciones, que intentaban la difusión de saberes y la diseminación de una cultura cívica, con el objetivo de forjar comportamientos, prácticas y hábitos que se ejercen en la vida cotidiana en las zonas rurales. El aporte teórico se basa en la Historia Cultural y como metodología se utilizó el análisis documental histórico. Los resultados de la investigación indican que el cuerpo docente municipal siguió una orientación pedagógica influenciada por las políticas desarrolladas en el período, semejante a lo que se produjo en las escuelas de otras regiones del país. También permitió identificar que los hechos desarrollados en el contexto de la escuela rural de Caxias do Sul ratificaron el discurso encontrado en Despertar y, así mismo, fueron legitimados por los textos publicados en el impreso, lo que pudo haber influido en la adopción de ciertas prácticas por parte de comunidades del interior del municipio de Caxias do Sul.O objeto de estudo neste artigo é o Jornal Despertar, um dispositivo da cultura material escolar, produzido pela Diretoria de Instrução Pública de Caxias do Sul/RS, durante o período de 1947 a 1954. A pesquisa analisou os exemplares do jornal para identificar evidências que pudessem cooperar para a compreensão sobre o modo como o impresso, associado à promoção de eventos nas localidades rurais, foi usado para a promoção de conteúdos e de representações, que intentavam a difusão de saberes e a disseminação de uma cultura cívica, objetivando forjar condutas, práticas e hábitos exercitados no cotidiano de vida nas áreas rurais. O aporte teórico tem por base a História Cultural e, como metodologia, utilizou-se a análise documental histórica. Os resultados da investigação indicam que o órgão municipal de ensino seguia uma orientação pedagógica influenciada pelas políticas desenvolvidas no período, assemelhando-se ao que era produzido em escolas de outras regiões do país.
