Festivities in the quotidian of Farroupilha School Group: the case of the Wing Week (Farroupilha/RS, 1940-1944)

Resumo: This study presents research results on Farroupilha School Group, situated in Farroupilha/RS. This paper aims to analyze the festivities of the Wing Week, which took place in the 40s of the 20th century, in this institution’s daily life. Contributions from Cultural History and History of Education guide us to the historical documentary analysis of photographs and written documents. Keeping in mind during analysis the school practices of celebrating dates as an important way of creating memories and evoking feelings of belonging, the Wing Week was carefully chosen due to its link to the nationalization of education, because the celebration was intended to promote the patriotism internalization and to celebrate national history conquests, its heroes and symbols. It has contributed to the promotion of civic and moral values and to exalting people’s love for the modern Brazilian homeland, highlighting its strength, importance, beauty and richness among students, their families and also the community from Farroupilha, who joined it by attending and honoring the celebrations in the institution.

La Semana de la Ala celebraba el patriotismo, vinculándolo a las fuerzas armadas y privilegiando prácticas pedagógicas colmadas de sentidos para la difusión de valores cívicos. Contribuciones de la Historia Cultural e Historia de la Educación orientan el análisis documental histórica de fotografías y documentos escritos. Analizando las prácticas escolares de conmemorar fechas como importantes constructoras de memorias y sensaciones de pertenencia, atentamos especialmente para la “Semana de la Ala” pensándola vinculada a la nacionalización de la enseñanza, pues el festejo tenía como designio promover la internalización del patriotismo, celebrar hechos de la historia nacional, sus héroes y símbolos. Como ritual marcante de la cultura escolar acabó por aportar en la difusión de valores cívicos y morales, exaltar el amor a la moderna Patria brasileña, destacando su fuerza, importancia, belleza y riqueza, entre alumnos, pero también para familias y comunidad farroupilhense que participaron asistiendo y prestigiando los festejos vividos en la institución.Resultado de pesquisa sobre o Grupo Escolar Farroupilha, localizado em Farroupilha/RS, o texto objetiva analisar os festejos da “Semana da Asa”, ocorridos na década de 40 do século XX, na cotidianidade desta instituição. A festividade celebrava o patriotismo, vinculando-o às forças armadas e privilegiando práticas pedagógicas repletas de sentidos para a difusão de valores cívicos. Contribuições da História Cultural e História da Educação orientam a análise documental histórica de fotografias e documentos escritos. Analisando as práticas escolares de comemorar datas como importantes construtoras de memórias e sentimentos de pertencimento, atentamos especialmente para a “Semana da Asa” pensando-a vinculada à nacionalização do ensino, pois o festejo tinha como intuito promover a internalização do patriotismo, celebrar feitos da história nacional, seus heróis e símbolos.
