Resumo: | At a broader theoretical level, the subject matter of this article is theater as a sui generis artistic medium of testimony and memory of the Shoah (according to scholars like Robert Skloot and Grzegorz Niziołek, among others). This issue is addressed in the background of Polish theater and drama from the immediate post-war period to the present day – an impressively rich body of creative achievements in its most part still unknown in Brazil. For the purpose of exemplifying and examining particular aspects of the problem, two major plays still untranslated into Portuguese – Pieszo (On foot; 1980), by Sławomir Mrożek, and Pułapka (The trap; 1982), by Tadeusz Różewicz – are analyzed and discussed in more detail. |

En un nivel teórico más amplio, el tema que se analiza en este artículo es el teatro como medio artístico sui generis de testimonio y memoria de la Shoah (según estudiosos como Robert Skloot y Grzegorz Niziołek, entre otros). El tema se aborda en el contexto de los logros de los directores de escena y dramaturgos polacos desde la posguerra inmediata hasta la actualidad, una colección creativa muy rica que aún es desconocida en Brasil. Con el fin de ejemplificar y examinar aspectos particulares del problema, se analizan y discuten dos obras importantes aún sin traducir al portugués: Pieszo (A pie; 1980), de Sławomir Mrożek, y Pułapka (La trampa; 1982), de Tadeusz Różewicz. con más detalle.Em um plano teórico mais amplo, a matéria sob escrutínio neste artigo é o teatro como um medium artístico sui generis de testemunho e memória da Shoah (conforme estudiosos como Robert Skloot e Grzegorz Niziołek, entre outros). Aborda-se a questão contra o pano de fundo das realizações de encenadores e dramaturgos poloneses desde o imediato pós-guerra até os dias de hoje – riquíssimo acervo criativo ainda vastamente desconhecido no Brasil.
