Resumo: As businesses evolve globally, companies are increasingly challenged to stay in a highly competitive market and, as a way to get ahead of their competitors, many employ strategic planning to set their goals and control the achievement of objectives. Regardless of the size of the company, establishing a guide to direct the actions and make sure they remain in line with the intended future objectives is essential. Strategies must be developed to be adopted to stay in the market. Therefore, planning and controlling are necessary functions for all organizations that aspire growth. This work aims to provide a contextualization about strategic planning, its impact on management and decision making, and present the budget as a tool to control plans. A simulated case study presents the implementation of a planning and budget, which proves the efficiency of these tools for management.

A simulated case study presents the implementation of a planning and budget, which proves the efficiency of these tools for management.Con la evolución de los negocios en el ámbito mundial, las empresas enfrentan cada vez más desafíos para mantenerse en un mercado altamente competitivo y, como una forma de adelantarse a sus competidores, muchas emplean la planificación estratégica para delinear sus metas y controlar el alcance de sus objetivos. Sea cual sea el tamaño de la empresa, es fundamental establecer una guía para orientar las acciones y para que permanezcan en línea con los objetivos futuros pretendidos. Hay que trazar estrategias que adoptar para que se perpetúe en el mercado. Por lo tanto, planificar y controlar son funciones necesarias a todas las organizaciones que anhelan el crecimiento. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo proporcionar una contextualización sobre la planificación estratégica, su impacto en la gestión y en la toma de decisiones, así como presentar el presupuesto como una herramienta para el control de los planes. Un caso de estudio simulado presenta la implantación de una planificación y presupuesto, donde se comprueba la eficiencia de estas herramientas de gestión.Com a evolução dos negócios a nível mundial, as empresas se desafiam cada vez mais para se manterem em um mercado fortemente competitivo e, como forma de saírem à frente de seus concorrentes, muitas empregam o planejamento estratégico para traçar suas metas e controlar o alcance dos objetivos. Independentemente do porte da empresa, é imprescindível que se estabeleça um guia para direcionar as ações e para que elas permaneçam em consonância com os objetivos futuros pretendidos. Deve-se traçar estratégias a serem adotadas para que ela se perpetue no mercado. Portanto, planejar e controlar são funções necessárias para todas as organizações que almejam o crescimento. Este trabalho visa proporcionar uma contextualização sobre o planejamento estratégico, seu impacto na gestão e tomada de decisão, e ainda apresentar o orçamento como ferramenta de controle dos planos.
