Inclusive design: resources for a social T-shirt model for people with visual impairment

Resumo: The objective of this article is to identify and define assistive features that can be applied to a dress shirt to make this garment a more inclusive product for visually impaired people. For this purpose, a hybrid design methodology has been developed, based on the concept of inclusive design that presents features that allow easy access and handling by blind users. The hybrid methodology was developed in the Textile Materials Innovation course of the PPGMODA Udesc, based on the design methodologies proposed by Baxter (2011), Lobach (2001) and Bonsiepe (1984), as well as the fashion methodology of Montemezzo (2003). In terms of its nature, the research methodology is classified as qualitative and descriptive in terms of its objectives. Regarding the technical procedures for data collection, an online questionnaire was used through Google Forms, with five questions, three essay questions and two multiple choice questions, applied to 22 visually impaired men between 18 and 30 years old who wear dress shirts. The results show that enables the development of garments with more inclusive characteristics, contributing to easy access and manipulation by the visually impaired. Finally, the following resources are mentioned: (I) Braille labels, (II) QR CODE, (III) audiodescription.

Para ello, se ha desarrollado una metodología de diseño híbrida, atendiendo al concepto de diseño inclusivo que presenta características que permiten un fácil acceso y manejo por parte de usuarios invidentes. La metodología híbrida se desarrolló en el curso de Innovación en Materiales Textiles del PPGMODA Udesc, a partir de las metodologías de diseño propuestas por Baxter (2011), Lobach (2001) y Bonsiepe (1984), así como la metodología de la moda de Montemezzo (2003). En cuanto a su naturaleza, la metodología de investigación se clasifica como cualitativa y descriptiva en cuanto a sus objetivos. En cuanto a los procedimientos técnicos para la recolección de datos, se utilizó un cuestionario en línea a través de Google Forms, con cinco preguntas, tres de ensayo y dos de opción múltiple, aplicado a 22 hombres con deficiencia visual de entre 18 y 30 años que usan camisas de vestir. Los resultados muestran que esta investigación posibilita el desarrollo de prendas de vestir con características más inclusivas, contribuyendo al fácil acceso y manipulación por parte de los deficientes visuales. Por último, se mencionan los siguientes recursos: (I) etiquetas Braille, (II) QR CODE, (III) audiodescripción.Esse artigo tem como objetivo a identificação e definição de recursos assistivos que possam serem aplicados em uma camisa social a fim de tornar este item de vestuário um produto mais inclusivo para pessoas com deficiência visual. Para isso, desenvolveu-se uma metodologia projetual híbrida, abordando o conceito do design inclusivo que apresente características que possibilite o fácil acesso e manuseio por parte dos usuários cegos. A metodologia híbrida foi desenvolvida na disciplina de Inovação em materiais têxteis do PPGMODA Udesc a partir das metodologias projetuais de design propostas pelos autores Baxter (2011), Lobach (2001) e Bonsiepe (1984) bem como, utilizou-se da metodologia de moda de Montemezzo (2003). Quanto a metodologia desta pesquisa em relação a sua natureza classifica-se como qualitativa e descritiva quanto aos seus objetivos. Quanto aos procedimentos técnicos para a coleta de dados utilizou-se um questionário on-line via Google Forms, com cinco perguntas, sendo três dissertativas e duas de múltiplas escolha aplicadas com 22 pessoas com deficiência visual do sexo masculino, com idade entre, 18 e 30 anos usuário de camisa social. Quanto aos resultados, destaca-se que é possível desenvolver itens de vestuário que apresente características com aspectos mais inclusivos, de modo à contribuindo para o fácil acesso e manuseio por parte da pessoa com deficiência visual.
