News about COVID-19 involving Brazilian higher education in Fashion

Resumo: | Faced with the COVID-19 pandemic, different Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) from all over Brazil have mobilized their infrastructures, employees from different areas, students and researchers to carry out numerous initiatives in order to minimize and overcome the negative effects of the disease. Among these, higher education courses in fashion, have participated in these initiatives, especially with regard to the production of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) of a textile nature. In this sense, the general objective of the article is to identify actions to confront COVID-19 adopted by higher education courses in fashion in Brazil. To this end, a documentary research was carried out in the virtual environment between the 25th and 29th of June 2020, considering 25 news items. As a result of the analysis, multidisciplinary actions were detected, developed in all Brazilian regions, by private and public institutions. The interdisciplinary nature of the actions includes research, extension and teaching activities, with an interface between the institutions, the State and civil society. The main pillar is the production of masks, however, other PPE and bedding sets for the health area were also checked. The resulting production of the actions was intended to supply the needs of the university community, as well as civil society and the health sector directly. The study becomes relevant as it proposes to make HEI initiatives visible in the face of the health crisis. |

Entre estos, los cursos de educación superior enModa, han participado en estas iniciativas, especialmente enlo que respecta a laproducción de Equipos de Protección Individual (EPI) de carácter textil. En este sentido, el objetivo general del artículo es identificar acciones para enfrentar elCOVID-19 adoptado por los cursos de educación superior de Moda en Brasil. Para ello, se llevó a cabo una investigación documental enel entorno virtual entre el 25 y el 29 de junio de 2020, considerando 25noticias. Como resultado delanálisis, se detectaronaccionesmultidisciplinarias, desarrolladasen todas lasregionesbrasileñas, por instituciones públicas y privadas. El carácter interdisciplinario de lasaccionesincluyeactividades de investigación, extensión y docencia, con una interfaz entre lasinstituciones, el Estado y lasociedad civil. El pilar principal es laproducción de mascarillas, sin embargo, también se revisaronotros EPI y juegos de cama para el área de salud. La producción resultante de lasaccionestuvo como objetivo suplirlasnecesidades de lacomunidaduniversitaria, así como de lasociedad civil y del sector salud de maneradirecta. El estudio cobra relevanciaya que propone visibilizar las iniciativas de las IES frente a lacrisissanitaria.Diante da pandemia por COVID-19 diferentes Instituições de Ensino Superior (IES) de todo o Brasil tem mobilizado suas infraestruturas, funcionários de áreas distintas, alunos e pesquisadores para a condução de iniciativas a fim de minimizar e superar os efeitos negativos da doença. Dentre esses, os cursos superiores de Moda participaramdessas iniciativas, principalmente no que tange à produção de Equipamentos de Proteção Individual (EPIs) de natureza têxtil. Nesse sentido, o objetivo geral do artigo é identificar ações de enfretamento da COVID-19 adotadas pelos cursos superiores de Moda, no Brasil. Para tanto, foi realizada uma pesquisa documental no ambiente virtual entre os dias 25 a 29 de junho de 2020, considerando 25 notícias. Como resultado da análise, foram detectadas ações multidisciplinares, desenvolvidas em todas as regiões brasileiras, por instituições privadas e públicas. O caráter interdisciplinar das ações engloba atividades de pesquisa, extensão e ensino, com interface entre as instituições, o Estado e sociedade civil. O principal pilar é a produção de máscaras, no entanto, outros EPIs e conjuntos de cama destinados à área da saúde também foram verificados. A produção resultante das ações se destinava ao suprimento de necessidades da comunidade universitária, bem como à sociedade civil e ao setor de saúde diretamente.
