Confluences between art and fashion in the production of Cindy Sherman and Miuccia Prada

Resumo: This article is the result of a research carried out during the doctoral thesis Diálogos entre arte y moda en la actualidad presented in March 2015 at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Vigo in Spain. In the panorama of contemporary creation, the confluence between art and fashion generates a feedback and hybridisation process by historically delimited and autonomous fields. To understand this dynamic, a comparison was made between the artist Cindy Sherman and the fashion designerMiuccia Prada based on an individual analysis of both their creative process and the result of their production. To establish the body as a form of expression and clothing as a proposal, characteristics that provide the lines of connection between art and fashion, allow to observe recurrent elements from the creation process until the result of the proposals that corroborate the confluence between the creators and their respective fields.

En el panorama de la creación contemporánea, la confluencia entre arte y moda ha generado un proceso de retroalimentación e hibridación entre campos históricamente delimitados y autónomos. Para comprender esta dinámica, se ha realizado una comparación entre la artista Cindy Sherman y la diseñadora de moda Miuccia Prada a partir de un análisis individual tanto de su proceso creativo como del resultado de su producción. Establecer el cuerpo como forma de expresión y la indumentaria como propuesta, características que proporcionan las líneas de conexión entre arte y moda, posibilita observar elementos recurrentes desde el proceso de creación hasta el resultado de sus proposiciones, que corroboran la confluencia entre las creadoras y sus respectivos ámbitos.Este artigo resulta da pesquisa efetuada durante a tese de doutorado Diálogos entre arte y moda en la actualidad defendida em março de 2015 na Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade de Vigo na Espanha. No panorama da criação contemporânea, a confluência entre arte e moda gera um processo de retroalimentação e hibridação entre campos historicamente delimitados e autônomos. Para entender essa dinâmica, foi feita uma comparação entre a artista Cindy Sherman e a designer de moda Miuccia Prada com base em uma análise individual tanto de seu processo criativo quanto do resultado de sua produção.
