Resumo: The paper presents possible antecedents of the creation of higher education courses in the field of fashion in Brazil, also characterized as fashion design. It seeks to show that this path is intertwined with the teaching of drawing, manual crafts, arts and design. Thus, it is proposed to think about this trajectory of origin to better understand the bases of contemporary education, as well as the challenges faced in Brazil in the area of fashion design. This is a bibliographical study of the founding history of higher education courses in the area of fashion design in Brazil. It is based on the work of Pires (2002), Mattos (2015), Moura and Lago (2015) and Aguiar (2015). Finally, it is identified that the teaching of fashion design enters the academy initially through specific courses within other graduations, followed by extension courses and only in mid-1987 as a bachelor degree.

Así, se propone pensar en esta trayectoria de origen para comprender mejor las bases de la educación contemporánea, así como los desafíos en el país en el área de la moda. Se trata de un estudio bibliográfico de la historia fundacional de los cursos de educación superior en el área de la moda en Brasil. Se basa en el trabajo de Pires (2002), Mattos (2015), Moura y Lago (2015) y Aguiar (2015). Finalmente, se identifica que la enseñanza del diseño y la moda ingresa a la academia inicialmente a través de disciplinas específicas dentro de otras graduaciones, seguido de cursos de extensión y a mediados de 1987como pregrado.Apresenta-se possíveis antecedentes da criação dos cursos superiores na área de moda no Brasil, atualmente também caracterizada como design de moda. Busca-se mostrar que esse percurso se entrelaça ao ensino do desenho, de fazeres manuais, das artes e do design. Dessa forma, propõe-se pensar essa trajetória para melhor compreender as bases do ensino contemporâneo, assim como os desafios enfrentados pela área de moda no País. Trata-se de um estudo bibliográfico da história de fundação dos cursos superiores da área de moda no Brasil. Fundamenta-se nos trabalhos de Pires ( 2002), Mattos ( 2015), Moura e Lago ( 2015) e Aguiar ( 2015).
