According to current evidence and related studies, there is a need to address financial information in all social segments, in order to reduce the impacts of poor financial / social management on the life of Brazilians. In the case of manauaras, this approach can occur through the introduction of Financial Education in basic education in their schools. Thus, this study investigates the benefits of introducing this discipline specifically for students in the third year of basic education in Manaus schools, associating it with the reflexes of this curricular innovation in the society of Manaus. The method used in the research was carried out in two public schools, subjecting six classes to a questionnaire over a period of one week. The students included in the study answered the same questionnaires on the financial theme, while the researchers made observations of the reaction of the class on the subject. With the results obtained, the research showed the lack and the importance of the topic within schools in the northern part of the city.
