Curriculum and Training in Public Higher Education:: a study on the formation of the physical therapist professional at the State University of Pará - UEPA in face of the demands of changes in the curriculum of the physical therapy course

Resumo: The study focuses on analyzing the core curriculum of physical therapy at the University of Pará - UEPA, established in 1993, considered in transition since 2008, is still subsidizing the training of teachers for a professional physiotherapists humanized operation, due to the implementation of the new curriculum more closely match the requirements imposed by the new curriculum guidelines for higher education. The issue focused on the question whether the knowledge produced and worked on the course based on this curriculum subsidized teachers in the preparation of physical therapists, enabling them to act in society today? The curriculum in transition subsidized teachers in the training physiotherapists, with a view to future professional activities such as humanized features national curriculum guidelines? The philosophical concept that permeates the curriculum in transition gives teachers sufficient theoretical and practical knowledge in the preparation of future professionals? The qualitative descriptive study was to stage the degree course in Physiotherapy Centre of Biological Sciences and Health, conducted by teachers from the 3rd, 4th and 5th grades in the course. The study was submitted to and approved by the Ethics in Human Research - CEP Course Undergraduate Nursing UEPA considering the establishing Resolution no. 196/96 of the National Health Data were collected through the questionnaire technique, instrument consisting of an ordered series of open questions, answered without the presence of the researcher. The data were subjected to content analysis in the thematic analysis method. The results express a training curriculum based on fragmented. It appears, however, paradigm shifts in the formation of physio UEPA, surpassing training models conservatives. From these results it was possible to observe the need to empower the academic community for the adoption of new professional profiles and encourage participation segment of University Programs in the reorientation training in physiotherapy, monitoring and evaluating practice.

A problemática concentrou-se na indagação se os saberes elaborados e trabalhados no curso baseados neste currículo subsidiaram os docentes na preparação dos profissionais fisioterapeutas, capacitando-os a atuarem na sociedade atual? O currículo em transição subsidiou os docentes na formação dos profissionais fisioterapeutas, tendo em vista a atuação humanizada desse futuro profissional como dispõe as diretrizes curriculares nacionais? A concepção filosófica que permeia o currículo em processo de transição proporciona aos docentes conhecimentos teóricos e práticos suficientes na preparação do futuro profissional? O estudo do tipo descritivo qualitativo teve como cenário o curso de graduação em fisioterapia do Centro de Ciências Biológicas e da Saúde, realizado com docentes das 3ª; 4ª e 5ª séries do curso. O estudo foi submetido à apreciação e aprovação do Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa envolvendo seres humanos – CEP, do Curso de Graduação em Enfermagem da UEPA, considerando o que institui a Resolução nº. 196/96 do Conselho Nacional de Saúde. Os dados foram coletados através da técnica do questionário, instrumento constituído por uma série ordenada de perguntas abertas, respondidas sem a presença do pesquisador. Os dados foram submetidos à análise de conteúdo na modalidade análise temática. Os resultados expressam uma formação com base em currículos fragmentados. Constata-se, contudo, mudanças de paradigmas na formação do fisioterapeuta da UEPA, ultrapassando modelos de formação conservadores.
