Resumo: This article deals with the subject of public youth policies. It is an initial discussion on the contemporary understanding of youth, identified several approaches to youth assigned by society. Afterwards, a contextualization of youth policiesinternationally and in Brazil, reporting the trajectory of these policies and their situation at the moment.
