The importance of academic tutoring in higher education

Resumo: Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) have been concerned with organizing educational and pedagogical projects that develop active, constructive, mediated and self-regulated learning. The curricular matrices are put into practice, expanding the work with different pedagogical proposals, investing in science and teaching. Within this context, there are academic tutoring programs (FRISON, 2016). Academic tutoring is defined as a pedagogical support service that aims to provide the development of technical skills and theoretical deepening, providing academic improvement (HAAG, 2009). It is considered a teaching-learning modality that meets the needs of university education because it involves the student in the activities of organization, planning and execution of the teaching work. The academic tutoring programs are important in higher education for teacher training because it constitutes yet another learning opportunity for the teaching profession.

Las matrices curriculares se ponen en práctica, ampliando el trabajo con diferentes propuestas pedagógicas, invirtiendo en ciencia y docencia. Dentro de este contexto, existen programas de tutoría (FRISON, 2016). La tutoría académica se define como un servicio de apoyo pedagógico que tiene como objetivo proporcionar el desarrollo de habilidades técnicas y profundización teórica, proporcionando mejora académica (HAAG, 2009). Se considera una modalidad de enseñanza y aprendizaje que satisface las necesidades de formación universitaria porque involucra al alumno en las actividades de organización, planificación y ejecución del trabajo docente. Los programas de tutoría son importantes en la educación superior para la formación del profesorado porque constituye otra oportunidad de aprendizaje para la profesión docente.As Instituições de Ensino Superior (IES) têm tido a preocupação de organizar projetos educativos e pedagógicos, que desenvolvam uma aprendizagem ativa, construtiva, mediada e autorregulada. As matrizes curriculares são colocadas em prática ampliando o trabalho com diferentes propostas pedagógicas, investindo na ciência e na docência. Dentro desse contexto têm-se os programas de monitoria (FRISON,2016). A monitoria acadêmica define-se como um serviço de apoio pedagógico que visa oportunizar o desenvolvimento de habilidades técnicas e aprofundamento teórico, proporcionando o aperfeiçoamento acadêmico (HAAG,2009). É considerada uma modalidade de ensino aprendizagem que atende às necessidades de formação universitária porque envolve o graduando nas atividades de organização, planejamento e execução do trabalho docente.
