Review of high school content applied to Biochemistry: an experience against evasion and retention

Rated as a discipline of difficult apprehension among students, Biochemistry has high levels of retention in health courses. Among the peculiarities that explain its aversion, there is the need for a solid repertoire of basic knowledge in Chemistry and Biology, which is often deficient in the previous training of undergraduate students, who originate in unequal socio-educational contexts. The purpose of this study was to discuss the experience developed in the Federal University of Espírito Santo, where a multidisciplinary course of high school content review was organized through Biology and Chemistry tutorials. Based on the participants' self-assessment, it was verified the need to implement the project as a permanent policy, guaranteeing equal conditions of permanence in university, as provided for in the Federal Constitution.
