Review of high school content applied to Biochemistry: an experience against evasion and retention

Resumo: Rated as a discipline of difficult apprehension among students, Biochemistry has high levels of retention in health courses. Among the peculiarities that explain its aversion, there is the need for a solid repertoire of basic knowledge in Chemistry and Biology, which is often deficient in the previous training of undergraduate students, who originate in unequal socio-educational contexts. The purpose of this study was to discuss the experience developed in the Federal University of Espírito Santo, where a multidisciplinary course of high school content review was organized through Biology and Chemistry tutorials. Based on the participants' self-assessment, it was verified the need to implement the project as a permanent policy, guaranteeing equal conditions of permanence in university, as provided for in the Federal Constitution.

Entre las peculiaridades que explican la aversión que se le atribuye, está la indispensabilidad de un sólido repertorio de conocimientos básicos en Química y Biología, a menudo deficiente en la formación previa de los universitarios, que se originan en contextos socioeducativos desiguales. Por lo tanto, el objetivo de este trabajo fue analizar la experiencia desarrollada en la Universidad Federal de Espírito Santo, donde se organizó un curso multidisciplinario de revisión del contenido de la escuela secundaria a través de tutoriales de Biología y Química. A partir de la autoevaluación realizada por los alumnos, se verificó la necesidad de implementar el proyecto como política definitiva, garantizando condiciones iguales de permanencia en la universidad según lo previsto en la Constitución.Taxada como uma disciplina de difícil apreensão pelos estudantes, a Bioquímica possui índices elevados de retenção nos cursos da área da saúde. Entre as peculiaridades que explicam a aversão que lhe é atribuída, está a imprescindibilidade de um sólido repertório de conhecimentos básicos em Química e Biologia, muitas vezes deficiente na formação prévia dos graduandos, que têm origem em contextos socioeducacionais desiguais. Destarte, objetivou-se discutir neste trabalho a experiência desenvolvida na Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, onde foi organizado um curso multidisciplinar de revisão de conteúdos do ensino médio por meio de tutorias de Biologia e Química.
