The use of oral history in the narrative of the history of education in Ceará.

Resumo: | Written sources were, for centuries, the only vestiges considered legitimate for the historian to recover the past, however, the question of the value of historical work is reinstated with oral testimonial collection, questioning the superiority of written sources. The objective is to discuss the methods used by History and express arguments that plead for the legitimacy of the use of oral sources, not only as a complementary support in the absence of the so-called “primary sources”, but as an important methodology for the historiographic study, especially in the field of History of Education in Ceará. With theoretical support in Burke (1992), Mehhy and Holanda (2007), Machado (2006), Marcuschi, (2001), Turato (2003), among others, defended the argument that orality is an interactive social practice for communicative purposes that, scientifically systematized, allow the storage and propagation of information between individuals and generations, fostering relevant stories, sometimes made invisible by the valorization of macro history. |

O objetivo é discutir os métodos utilizados pela História e exprimir argumentos que suplicam pela legitimidade do aproveitamento das fontes orais, não apenas como suporte complementar na ausência das chamadas “fontes primárias”, mas como metodologia importante para o estudo historiográfico, em especial no campo da História da Educação do Ceará.
