Teaching, Musical Education and Percussion Learning Practices

Resumo: Percussion progressively emerges as a successful form of musicalization and carries expectations of its inclusion as an educational resource. However, various challenges and tensions are noted. In this context, how should percussion learning practices be conceived in the didactic-pedagogical plan? Are there sufficient training structures for teaching action in the teaching of percussion? This qualitative construct results from a study developed collaboratively under the ethnomusicological perspective of musical education and learning and was based on practical experiences of observation participating in the teaching and learning of percussion. The objective is to reflect on percussion learning practices and musical education. It is defended the thesis that the teaching of percussion has focused on rigid formal methods that in their majority do not articulate with the daily reality of the students. It is then understood that it is necessary to reflect on the pedagogical use of music in the intra and extra school contexts.

Contudo, são constatados vários desafios e tensões. Nesse contexto, como as práticas de aprendizagem da percussão devem ser concebidas no plano didático-pedagógico? Existem estruturas formativas suficientes para a ação docente no ensino da percussão? Este constructo de natureza qualitativa resulta de estudo desenvolvido colaborativamente sob olhar etnomusicológico da educação e aprendizagem musical e se esteia em vivências práticas de observação participante na docência e aprendizado da percussão. Objetiva-se refletir sobre as práticas de aprendizagem da percussão e a educação musical. Defende-se a tese de que o ensino de percussão tem se debruçado sobre métodos formais rígidos que em sua maioria não se articulam com a realidade factual cotidiana dos alunos.
