Memories of the School and Academic Spaces of a Visually Impaired Student at UFC

Resumo: This article is part of a master's research and aims to present the experiences of the life course of a student with visual impairment enrolled in the Licentiate Degree in Philosophy at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC). The study carried out has a qualitative approach and used the history of life as a method, through the methodology of oral history, addressing reports of the dynamics of school and academic life of Beta, a fictitious name used to preserve the identity of the participating subject. Aspects such as self-perception, interpersonal relationships with school actors, teaching and assessment methodologies used by teachers and technological resources for accessing knowledge are recalled and reported by Beta. The study undertaken revealed moments and perceptions experienced and felt in educational spaces from childhood to university. The results showed possibilities and, above all, accessibility limitations. Several barriers are perceived with attempts to overcome it through an individual effort to integrate the student into the school and academic scenarios covered.

Several barriers are perceived with attempts to overcome it through an individual effort to integrate the student into the school and academic scenarios covered.Este artigo constitui um recorte de pesquisa de mestrado e  visa apresentar vivências  do percurso de vida de um estudante com deficiência visual matriculado no curso de Licenciatura em Filosofia da Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC). O estudo realizado tem abordagem qualitativa e utilizou como método a história de vida, pela metodologia de história oral, abordando relatos da dinâmica de vida escolar e acadêmica de Beta, nome fictício utilizado para preservar a identidade do sujeito participante. Aspectos como  percepção de si, das relações interpessoais com os atores da escola, metodologias de ensino e de avaliação utilizadas pelos professores e  recursos tecnológicos de acesso ao conhecimento são rememorados e relatados por Beta. O estudo empreendido revelou momentos e percepções vividas e sentidas nos espaços educativos desde a infância até a universidade.
