Resumo: This article presents preliminary data from a broader study, entitled Student evasion in the Central Hinterland of Ceará: a case study in undergraduate courses at FECLESC / UECE. The work aims to: 1) Investigate student dropout in the Portuguese Language course at the Faculty of Education, Sciences and Letters of the Central Sertão (FECLESC); 2) Point out the types of evasion and possible causes from previously delimited categories; 3) Elaborate a quantitative survey of the dropout rates, among the classes of 2012.1 and 2019.1.It is important to note that the research was done, at first, with the collection of general data referring to all courses and, subsequently, the course of Portuguese Letters was analyzed. The analysis presented here deals with data collected between the months of August 2019 to July 2020, being the quantitative survey carried out based on the files of the academic control of FECLESC. The research revealed that the dropout rate in the Portuguese Language course at FECLESC is approximately 38.3% between 2012.1 and 2019.1.

O trabalho apresenta como objetivos: 1) Investigar a evasão estudantil no curso de licenciatura em Letras Português da Faculdade de Educação, Ciências e Letras do Sertão Central (FECLESC); 2) Apontar os tipos de evasão e as possíveis causas a partir de categorias previamente delimitadas; 3) Elaborar um levantamento quantitativo dos índices de evasão, dentre as turmas de 2012.1 e 2019.1. Importante salientar que a pesquisa foi feita, em um primeiro momento, com a coleta de dados gerais referentes a todos os cursos e, posteriormente, analisado o curso de Letras Português. A análise aqui apresentada trata de dados coletados entre os meses de agosto de 2019 a julho de 2020, sendo, o levantamento quantitativo realizado com base nos arquivos do controle acadêmico da FECLESC.
