Working conditions: meanings of being a high school teacher

Resumo: This essay aims to map the scientific production that deals with the working conditions imposed on high school teachers, focusing on the meanings of being a teacher. The development of the work, characterized as State of Knowledge. Thus, the scientific production raised allows to know the trends and research approaches, in addition to enabling the perception of existing gaps in production. In this perspective, it was verified the timeline of the works, the distribution by regions, the main categories present in the research, among others, in a 10-year period (from 2010 to 2020). The results of the selected researches show that public educational institutions, in the neoliberal context, have been assuming a format that meets a market and managerial perspective, following the same logic as business organizations, with a focus on ends and quantitative aspects. Such reality, focusing on the perception from the teachers' practice, unfolds in the precariousness of the teaching work.

O desenvolvimento do trabalho, caracterizado como Estado do Conhecimento. Dessa forma, a produção científica levantada permite conhecer as tendências e abordagens das pesquisas, além de possibilitar a percepção de lacunas existentes na produção. Nessa perspectiva, verificou-se a linha do tempo dos trabalhos, a distribuição por regiões, as principais categorias presentes nas pesquisas, entre outros, em um recorte temporal de 10 anos (de 2010 a 2020). Os resultados das pesquisas selecionadas apontam que as instituições públicas de ensino, no contexto neoliberal, vêm assumindo um formato que atende a uma perspectiva mercadológica e gerencialista, seguindo a mesma lógica das organizações empresariais, com foco nos fins e nos aspectos quantitativos.
