New education modality: why homeschooling is a set back?

Resumo: The present study focuses on the possible impacts of homeschooling (HS) on the Brazilian education system and aims to address the dimensions of this educational model and its consequences for the public education system and educational training of children. In this way, we will seek to know where the idea of ​​HS comes from, and to understand its history, as well as its intentions and consequent implications in the educational and social plan of Brazilian education. We adopted a methodology of bibliographic and documentary research. The work is structured as follows: Homeschooling as a teaching modality; Historical aspects of family education in Imperial Brazil; Homeschooling in the contemporary scenario; The impacts of homeschooling on public education and the education of children. The change proposed by HS for Brazilian education represents a setback, as it denies universality with regard to equal access for all.

Dessa forma, procuraremos saber de onde vem a ideia do HS, e compreender seu histórico, bem como suas intenções e consequentes implicações no plano educativo e social da educação brasileira. Adotamos uma metodologia de investigação bibliográfica e documental. O trabalho está estruturado da seguinte forma: O homeschooling como modalidade de ensino; Aspectos históricos da educação familiar no Brasil Imperial; O homeschooling no cenário contemporâneo; Os impactos do homeschooling na educação pública e na formação de crianças.
