Crowned Lion Maracatu: An account of culture, tradition and education

Resumo: In this report, we invite you to approach Maracatu, specifically Crowned Lion Maracatu. Thus, we traced as main objective to reflect on the Crowned Lion from the cultural and traditional meanings, expanding reflective horizons on education. We used the Qualitative Research anchored in the experience report as a significant approach to our reflections, based on the experiences with Crowned Lion, as well as on the bibliographic research on its historical context, bringing excerpts from interviews found in this documentary collection that involves the nation. Finally, we highlight the sacred and religiosity in Crowned Lion as symbologies of tradition, the voice as an element of experiences, life stories where memory and oblivion are present in its way of structuring relationships and we take into account that the Education does not only take place in formal teaching spaces, but also occurs in informal spaces.

Assim, traçamos como principal objetivo refletir sobre o Maracatu Leão Coroado a partir das significações culturais e tradicionais ampliando horizontes reflexivos sobre a educação. Utilizamos a Pesquisa Qualitativa ancorada no relato de experiência como abordagem significativa às nossas reflexões, baseada nas vivências com o Leão Coroado, como também na pesquisa bibliográfica sobre seu contexto histórico, trazendo trechos de entrevistas encontradas neste acervo documental que envolve a nação.
