The invisibility of racial ethnic issues in the initial training of teachers

Resumo: It is considered that the field of teacher training is still based on Eurocentric biases, which implies the exclusion of a plurality of knowledge in curriculum, so that it highlights the relevance of bringing to the discussion themes still invisible in the formation of teachers, such as ethnic-racial relations. Thus, the research aims to reflect on the invisibility of themes about ethnic-racial relations in undergraduate courses, as well as to identify the challenges arising from this absence in the performance of teachers. For this, the methodology adopted was a bibliographic and participant research. In this sense, it is understood that for a social and epistemic transformation to occur, it permeates the training of teachers, which is central to the construction of an anti-racist education, and with regard to the transformation of universities requires change in the way it is structured, that is, in its organization and curriculum adopted.

Assim, a pesquisa tem como objetivo refletir sobre a invisibilidade de temáticas sobre as relações étnico- raciais nos cursos de licenciatura, como também identificar os desafios decorrentes de tal ausência na atuação dos professores. Para isso, a metodologia adotada constituiu-se em pesquisa bibliográfica e participante.
