History and memory: theoretical anchors for biographical writing

Resumo: The present work presents an excerpt from the main author's biographical research for a master's degree in education, entitled “Maria Grasiela Teixeira Barroso: legacy for nursing education in Ceará”, defended in 2021 at the State University of Ceará. Based on the foundations that made up the epistemological framework of the dissertation research, we aim here to discuss the concepts of History and Memory and their relationship with biographical research, as well as to weave theoretical reflections that dialogue with this type of research, giving it sustainability and scientific rigor. In this scope, we used a qualitative approach, of the theoretical type, whose writing was outlined in theoretical contributions about Biography, History and Memory, intertwining. We conclude that both History and Memory are configured as epistemological anchors to tell the story of any subject, thus enabling the production of biographical research with due scientific rigor.

A partir de fundamentações que compuseram o referencial epistemológico da pesquisa dissertativa, objetivamos, aqui, discutir os conceitos de História e Memória e sua relação com a pesquisa de cunho biográfico, bem como tecer reflexões teóricas que dialogam com esse tipo de pesquisa dando-lhe sustentabilidade e rigor científico. Nesse escopo, utilizamos uma abordagem qualitativa, do tipo teórica, cuja escrita delineou-se em aportes teóricos acerca da Biografia, da História e da Memória, imbricando-se.
