Resumo: The objective of this article is to understand the restructuring of Technical Education in the context of the educational reform undertaken in the administration of Minister Gustavo Capanema (1934-1945), caused by the need to adapt national interests to the country's industrialization and to the different projects in dispute. The study uses, as basic references, readings de Cunha (2000); Fonseca (1961); Schwartzman; Bohemy and Costa (2000); Manfredi (2002) and others, in addition to the analysis of the legislation. The text explains the pedagogical concepts for professional education present in the structuring of technical and industrial education, highlighting the importance of the Organic Law for Industrial Education (1942) to meet the demands imposed by the emerging national industry. This reform, despite the advances, maintained the structural duality demonstrated by the need to pass specific laws for professional education (normal, industrial, agricultural, commercial).

O estudo utiliza, como referências básicas as leituras de Cunha (2000); Fonseca (1961); Schwartzman; Bohemy e Costa (2000); Manfredi (2002) e outros, além da análise da legislação educacional. O texto explicita as concepções pedagógicas para o ensino profissional presentes na estruturação do ensino técnico e industrial, destacando a importância da Lei Orgânica do Ensino Industrial (1942) para atender as demandas impostas pela emergente indústria nacional.
