Resumo: The work aims to analyze Nísia Floresta's pioneering spirit in relation to the struggle for equality in female education in the nineteenth century, based on the life and work of educator Nísia Floresta, considered one of the first Brazilian feminists. The research focuses on women's pioneering in a patriarchal society that prevented them from living a free life and exercising a profession like men. Dionísia Gonçalves Pinto, pseudonym of Nísia Floresta Brasileira Augusta was born in Sitio Floresta, Papari, Rio Grande do Norte. Nísia Floresta writes in 1832, aged 22, Women's Rights and Men's Injustice, inspired by the book by English feminist Mary Wollstonecraft: Vindications of the Rights of Woman work which he translates freely. Other works from the north of Riograndense reflect on the inferiorization of women in relation to female education, as well as claiming the equality of women in the educational system.
