Mathematics problems in early childhood education: the senses and the meanings

Resumo: | It expresses the results of a survey carried out in the Specialization Course in Literacy and Multiliteracies (UAB/UECE) in 2019, aiming to research pedagogical practices that consider the resolution of problems in Mathematics and the consideration for the child's interests. The analysis followed qualitative procedures that contemplated the observation of proposals for problems in Mathematics and listening to the ideas of the children and the teacher of an early childhood education group aged 5 in a municipal public institution in Fortaleza. As instruments for data collection, observation records, photographic files and semi-structured interviews with the teacher and children were used. Thus, it was found that children are interested and curious about Mathematics problems and written records. The teacher, however, needs to continually review their pedagogical practice, giving new meaning to the resolution of Mathematics problems by listening to children's ideas. |

A análise seguiu procedimentos qualitativos que contemplaram a observação das propostas de problemas de matemática e a escuta das ideias das crianças e da professora de uma turma de infantil V em uma instituição pública municipal de Fortaleza. Como instrumentos para a coleta de dados, foram utilizados o registro das observações, o arquivo fotográfico e a entrevista semiestruturada com a professora e as crianças. Assim, constatou-se que as crianças têm interesse e demonstram curiosidade pelos problemas de matemática e pelos registros escritos.
