Pharmacognostic characterization of Synadenium carinatum Boissier: proposal for an interdisciplinary work between Biology and Chemistry

Resumo: | This study explored the interdisciplinarity between Biology and Chemistry, using the species Synadenium carinatum Boissier (Euphorbiaceae), a toxic ornamental plant, as an object of investigation. Therefore, the pharmacognostic characterization of the plant species was proposed. So that there was a real interdisciplinarity between the disciplines of Biology and Chemistry, experimental scripts were elaborated for morpho-histological and phytochemical analysis of the plant and that would provide interactivity between teachers and students. We conclude from the results that the approach to the contents of the disciplines of Biology and Chemistry and their different approaches to the proposed theme, made it possible for the content worked to move from an abstract learning to a more “concrete” and meaningful learning. Therefore, it was noticed that the proposed activities led the students to seek, to learn, to think about the observed phenomena and to actively participate in the classes. |

Foi proposta, então, a caracterização farmacognóstica da espécie vegeta. Para que houvesse uma real interdisciplinaridade entre as disciplinas de Biologia e Química, foram elaborados roteiros experimentais para análise morfohistológica e fitoquímica do vegetal e que propiciassem a interatividade entre professores e alunos. Concluímos a partir dos resultados, que abordagem dos conteúdos das disciplinas de Biologia e Química e seus diferentes enfoques acerca do tema proposto, possibilitou que o conteúdo trabalhado passasse de um aprendizado abstrato para um aprendizado mais “concreto” e significativo.
