How is Geography teaching in Covid-19 pandemic times?

Resumo: The arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic brought about profound changes in the most varied aspects of daily life, including educational realities and teaching-learning processes. The main objective of this text is to present initial discussions about the possibilities and potential of teaching Geography in times of Covid-19 pandemic. For this, a brief conceptual review is made on the field of Geography teaching, especially from the concept of the object of study of Geography - geographic space - and the definition of school Geography, being the same contextualized for the contemporary moment. Still, some considerations are presented from the teaching practice, in the case of remote directed studies of Geography, carried out at the College of Application of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, throughout the academic year of 2020, highlighting the pedagogical movements carried out and pointing its perceived strengths and weaknesses throughout the process.

O principal objetivo do presente texto é apresentar discussões iniciais sobre as possibilidades e potencialidades do ensino de Geografia em tempos de pandemia da Covid-19. Para isso, é realizada breve retomada conceitual sobre o campo do ensino de Geografia, em especial a partir do conceito do objeto de estudo da Geografia – espaço geográfico – e da definição de Geografia escolar, sendo os mesmos contextualizados para o momento contemporâneo.
