Resumo: Brazil is a country that does not have a characteristic that identifies it like other countries, Germany for example. This is because Brazil has in its original base not just one “race”, but is based on several different cultures, such as the indigenous, African and Portuguese peoples who constitute the foundations of Brazil. It was from the fusion of these peoples that Brazil was conceived, however, there is some resistance to recognizing itself as a mixed people, at least from a large portion of thepopulation. The fact is that Brazil, even though it is symbiotically united with Africa and black people, has difficulty understanding this fact, which causes many racist practices and discourses to be produced and reproduced. Miscegenation is not enough to eradicate racism and today we can already talk about structural racism as an offshoot of racist practices, if not their sophistication. Therefore, the objective of this work is to show that the origin of racism is in the process of colonization, thus returning to its historical origins. In order to then be able to diagnose how deep its roots are in theconstruction of Brazilian society, in this way, we will be able to understand what role the school playsin the process of formation and construction of a new mentality that promotes the formation of individuals more aware of their origins.
