SOS Let's Reveal it - Attention to the victim of sexual assault: Education as a mechanism to combat violence against women, an experience report

The extension project “SOS Let’s Reveal it - Attention to the victim of sexual assault” emerged in 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal is to discuss, enlighten and educate people, in the academic and non-academic environment, about a sensitive and complex subject, violence against women. Currently, the project has more than 800 followers and reached 3500 accounts on Instagram, the most accessed social media from the program. The disseminate information includes: examples about what is considered violence against women and Brazilian legislation support in these situations, health and juridic assistance places and, mainly, the recognition of health conditions associated with violence, in its different forms.  Furthermore, when searching for informational assistance through “SOS Let’s Reveal it” social media, women are guided to the knowledge, be that related to places of women's health care or to laws that protect them.
