Resumo: This article is an exploration of the role of art direction in the design of photobooks. The intricacies of the production of this type of object/artifact were investigated. The methodological approach adopted here used interviews with prominent professionals in the production of photobooks in Brazil. A structure divided into three fronts involved in the design and production of a photobook was identified.
